Jaxbot tested it, and reports “I tested it, as seen above. My server is spammed with requests,” referring to the battery-draining infinite loop buggy live tiles can get caught in.
Apparently the update, which dates to the 19th January, only includes “the quartz framework” and “some provisioning settings in there for syncing Google accounts” which is rather disappointing considering the deal-breaking bug which Microsoft is still spreading to fully functional WP 7.5 handsets.
Just updated my unbranded Omnia 7. This was exactly what i needed. Tile lag seems to be gone, never had tile update issue though.

ReplyDeleteits very simple. It took me like 30 minutes for 7.8 and like 5 for this update.
mine neither. I have a tmobile USA lumia 710 and read how tmobile wasn't going to push the 7.8 update here and I got disappointed. Then read about the seven eighter tool here on this site, tried it, and now im using 7.8. I know it's only the tiles, but it looks much better imo. There's actually an article published yesterday on here on how that tool was updated to support this bug fix too. I recommend you try it. I did, now im happier :)
