Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8.0.1 - Microsoft's text, audio and video chat client for Mac

For Windows users, Windows Messenger and Windows Live Messenger provide an easy way to keep in touch with friends and family. With Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8, the same freedom is made available to Mac owner in this OS X friendly edition of the popular instant messaging client.

Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8 not only allows you to conduct text chat with your contacts, it can also be used to send files as an alternative to attaching them to emails. In addition to this, the chat client also includes the option of conducting audio and video chats.

Providing you have a Windows Live ID available, there's nothing else you need to get started with the application. As you start chatting, Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8 will keep a record of your conversations so you can refer back to them at a later date.

Microsoft Messenger for Mac 8 is available as part of Office for Mac 2011, but anyone who does not have the office suite can install it as a standalone application. There are few notable improvements over previous version of the program, but the addition of voice and video chats is welcome.
