Metro UI Tweaker for Windows 8 - A simple tweaking tool for Windows 8

Every version of Windows has a selection of tweaking tools, and the as yet to be released Windows 8 is no different. Metro UI Tweaking Tool is a free tool that enables users of Windows 8 to make a small but significant number of changes to the operating system to make it more usable and customised.

Despite the rather limited number of options, Metro UI Tweaker for Windows 8 is still a handy tweaking utility that enables you to customise Windows 8 to suit your liking. While the Metro interface, ribbon toolbar and redesigned Start menu are key components of Windows 8, they are not the be all and end all, and they are certainly not to everyone's liking.

Using this free tool you can easily disable any of the features that you are not particularly keen on as well as making a number of additions to the Start menu to provide access to the options and programs you use most often.

You have the option of adding a number of power shortcuts to the Start menu so you can more easily access the sleep, shutdown, restart and other options. You can also create links to any of the programs you use more frequently to make it quicker to launch your favourite applications.

Note - this software can only be used with Windows 8. A Windows 8 platform option is not currently available in our CMS. Ignore the Windows 7 platform reference.

Verdict:
A simple tweaking tool that is likely to be surpassed, but it is useful nonetheless.
